Should the Population Be Screened for HIV?

Summary: This two- to three-day long unit will teach students the criteria used in determining whether a proposed screening program is appropriate for given health events. Students will recognize and discuss the many implications and competing interests that must be addressed when considering the implementation of screening programs or the continuation of existing ones.

The assessment component requires that students work collaboratively to consider whether specific countries should institute mandatory screening for HIV.
