Please Note: The eighth and final YES Competition was held in April 2011.
Epidemiology is the scientific method used to investigate, analyze and prevent or control a health problem in a population. Epidemiologists are interested in all kinds of health issues including infectious diseases such as hepatitis or HIV/AIDS and chronic diseases such as childhood obesity. Our quality of life—and even our survival—depend in large part on the work of epidemiologists.
